PNoy’s SONA

I just watched Pres. Noynoy’s State of the Nation Address. I must say, I am hopeful that he will do well. Oh, I know that six years is too short a time to radically change the ways of a government with blatant and unrestrained corruption. I am realisitic enough to realize that. In fact, I did not even vote for Noynoy because I didn’t believe in his slogan Kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap.  I didn’t like the fact that he used the past administration’s wrongdoings during his campaign. Seeing him now, however, as a President and more importantly, seeing how trusted he is by our people, lift my hopes and give me reason to believe that the country is on its way to recovery, kahit papano.

Among all the points he tried to make (including the anomalies he revealed), I was really impressed with his call for engagement among the people:

Tungkulin po ng bawat Pilipino na tutukan ang mga pinunong tayo rin naman ang nagluklok sa puwesto. Humakbang mula sa pakikialam tungo sa pakikilahok. Dahil ang nakikialam, walang-hanggan ang reklamo.

Ang nakikilahok, nakikibahagi sa solusyon.

I wholeheartedly agree. I abhor those who complain endlessly but do not do anything to help, those who rely on the government for their subsistence, those who finger-point, those who do not give credit where credit is due, those who just do not stop to give chance to those government employees who genuinely want to serve.

I hope and pray, for the sake of our country and the 91 million Filipinos, that PNoy deliver his promises.

Tayo nang tumungo sa katuparan ng ating mga pinangarap.

Delivering it won’t be easy. Remember there are still those in power who will do anything to keep their position so that they can continue to rape and plunder our country.

Filipinos want change. Yeah right! But why are we still voting for thieves, murderers, rapist and criminals. Those who plundered our country for nine years are still in power and will remain in power because Filipinos are still voting for them.

I agree with your opinion. I also were not for Noynoy during the Elections but because of what he has been showing to us lately, I think and I hope for him to do well. Kudos! :)
