Shrine for Jia

Oh! I know that this blog is starting to be a shrine for Jia. I can’t help it, I love my daughter too much! (And I’m sure all mommies out there can relate.)

Jia "reading" a bedtime story to her friends

Jia’s two years old now, which means life, as I knew it, changed 2 years and 10 months ago. Imagine, from this, I got to this! I am not what you will call “maternal”. Sooooo far from it, in fact. But now, I understand what Larry in Ally McBeal meant when he said “when you do have a child, no matter how much you think you’re prepared for it, you’ll be stunned by the capacity you have to love somebody”. And since I wasn’t even prepared to have a child, my shock was probably triple that of a normal parent’s. Hahaha!

I super love Jia. I love being next to her when she wakes up. I love seeing the smile on her face when she sees me and says her first word of the day (which is either “Mommy!” or “Daddy?” [when she does not see her Daddy in the room]). My heart melts when I see her trying her best to learn something — when she repeats words she has just learned or asks somethng. I love bathing her and waiting for her to play a joke on me (she always makes me think that she has drunk bath water and then I’ll panic and then she’ll laugh). I love going to the mall with her — just the two of us. I love reading with her. I just love spending time with her and seeing her grow up.

Oh my God, I’m such a mom! :-?

Hahaha!
