Child’s Place (Multiple Intelligence Intl School)

I am SOOOO happy!

We are considering three schools for Jia: Miriam, Child’s Place (the Multiple Intelligence School), and The Learning Tree (another progressive school).

Last Monday, on my way to Miriam to submit the admissions requirements, I called Child’s Place to ask about their application requirements. I talked to Mrs. Canon and she was so accommodating. She informed us that we can have Jia assessed for admissions to their school as soon as I like since for now, she is sure that they have four slots open (yes, four lang!). I scheduled the assessment today at 2pm.

I didn’t prepare Jia at all… well, I did check if she knew her real name while we were in the van on the way to the school. Hahaha!

An hour before our appointment, J called and said he can come with us! Yey!

When we got there, Mrs. Canon showed us around and let Jia play in their play area (which was really nice… with a playhouse, a play hospital, a ball pool, a blocks section, etc). After a while, Teacher Tanya got Jia for her assessment while we continued to discuss the school with Mrs. Canon.

When Jia and the teacher came out, Teacher said that they will be very happy have Jia with them next year. She was impressed that Jia was already reading CVCs and not sight reading. She was really trying daw to make the sounds. The teacher actually was not supposed to have her read but she realized that Jia was very much familiar with the letter sounds so she made her read. Plus she was very focused daw and was not distracted at all by the toys surrounding them, even when they just entered the room. Ang dali daw niyang pasagutin.

I’m SOOOO happy!

We’ll still look at the other schools pero at least okay na kaming dalawa dito ni J. We were really impressed with them. Ang ganda ng program eh. Basta I’m so giddy right now!!! And even if we decide not to enrol her in this school, I am just so happy and so proud of my daughter!
