Boo Boo Balm ♥
Product Reviews: this category will showcase (Aysus, “showcase” talaga ang term! LOL!) products I soooo love to use for my kids.
Joya has the most sensitive skin. One time, I forgot to buy his Milea soap and had to use Jia’s Johnson’s soap (that was the time that Jia still used Johnson’s once in a while). In two days, Joya had cradle cap, even in his eyebrows! Grrrrr! Inis na inis na inis ako! From then on, I just used Milea. Everything was a-okay until one time that I held a bottle of perfume and then without washing hands, touched his hair. In several minutes, his scalp was all red. That was the time I really realized how sensitive he is.
A few of months ago, he developed rashes on his face and my pedia gave him Cetaphil Restoraderm. It wasn’t as effective as I hoped it would be. Then he was prescribed a steroid. His rashes lessened but as soon as we stopped the steroids, he had a flare up again! I was starting to be concerned. At our next pedia visit, Joya’s pedia/allergologist diagnosed it already as Atopic Dematitis. My concern turned into a full-blown worry. Good thing Wonderful thing, my very friend Veluz posted on her FB page that she was looking for a US-licensed doctor. She was looking for a certain medicine for her daughter with atopic dermatitis. Since Veluz is VERY popular (at oo, pag nabasa mo ito, pwede wag magma-ang-maangan! alam naman natin pareho na sikat ka!), so many people replied. They recommended so many brands of meds but what caught my eye was VMV Hypoallegenics’ Grandma Minnie’s The Big Brave Boo Boo Balm (hahaha! the name is sooo long!) because so many people recommended it to her. I read that it’s non steroidal and hypoallergenic. Since I’m pretty easy to convince, the next day I bought one together with Mommycoddling All-Over Lotion (also from VMV). I also went to Mustela and bought Stelatopia (another well-recommended product in Veluz’s thread). I also got Virgin Coconut Oil. Haha! Me, a hoarder? Nah!!! Hahaha!
And you know, it worked!!!! Hallelujah! Joya’s rashes cleared! I did not use any steroidal cream and yet his face (and neck and inside of the elbows) went back to his former baby smoothy smooth skin! I actually do not know for a fact which of the balms worked but I am pretty convinced it’s the Boo Boo Balm. It’s the one which we apply every two to three hours on the affected area. And Lisa (of Jeff and Lisa fame) was right, you could see results even an hour after application. When I was just using Mustela Stelatopia, I didn’t see its effect as quickly as I did with the Boo Boo Balm.
Boo Boo Balm has monolaurin. Monolaurin is a coconut-derived, gentle-yet- powerful disinfectant, antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiviral + antiprotozoal <from the website>. It’s free from dyes, phthalates, parabens, and other preservatives; non-comedogenic; and non-drying.
Because of the Boo Boo Balm, I am now a certified fan of VMV. In fact, Joya developed diaper rashes (I think he has has something since his wiwi has a stronger smell) and his usual cream is not working. So off I went to VMV this evening to buy Grandma Minnie’s Oil’s Well Nurturing Do-it-Oil for his diaper rashes. I’m hoping it will be as effective on him as Boo Boo Balm has been.
Basta, Boo Boo Balm ♥

looks like a great product! ma-try nga. i currently use by nature’s baby salve or ilog maria’s propolis ointment. dati it was indigo’s jar of hope. how much is it though?
super okay siya, Jen. P910 sa store. mejo pricey lang pero di hamak na effective sa akin than jar of hope which I also used before.
He has cradle cap now.
I’m wondering if gagana din dito Boo-Boo Balm.
what’s your shampoo, lisa?
Yikes. Just saw this now. Lactacyd baby wash. Any suggestions?
Lisa, up to now may cradle cap pa rin siya? Try mo kaya to switch? Okay daw yung baby wash ng Granda Minnies’s line. I have it pero hindi ko pa nagagamit kay Joya. Also try Ceraklin (available sa Mercury). Naku, sana mawala na cradle cap ni Corwin.
Ah, no. Just a few tiny patches na lang. Healed na, but he does have a bald spot now. Hay. Thanks! Will try the vmv one.
Hi Ms. Clarice san po available itong boo boo balm? May allergies kc ang mother ko sa paa bka lang effective din. Thanks po.
Hi Ms. Zig! Sa VMV Hypoallergenics po siya nabibili. Meron sa Trinoma. You want me to buy for you? Madalas naman ako dun. Tapos pwede ko na lang padala sa mom nyo po. Pero baka kelangan muna siya makita ng doctor hindi kaya?
